Send a piece of your heart in one tap
Mwoyo means heart. It's a free app for the few people you love: tap their face, tap a mwoyo, and a hug, a wave or a "thinking of you" lands on their phone as a little moment with motion, sound and touch. No typing. No feed. Just you and your circle.
How it works
- Pick a mwoyo for someone you miss. Send them the link on WhatsApp or anywhere, or let them scan your QR code.
- It waits for them. When they open Mwoyo, your mwoyo is the first thing they unwrap.
- Two taps from then on. Tap their face, tap a mwoyo. Hold it to make it bigger. It flies to them and acts itself out.
Say how you feel
Love, a hug, a laugh, or happy, sad, tired, angry or surprised. For the days words are too much.
Opened like a gift
They open it, and the moment plays for them. Then they can send any mwoyo back.
A few words, if you like
Add up to 20 characters, like "good luck today!". They see it after the moment.
Photos seen once
Send a photo; they see it once. It stays only if they keep it in your shared jar.
Ten people, at most
A circle, not a contact list. Mute, remove or block in one tap; they're never told.
Gentle by design
No streaks, no likes, no guilt. Quiet hours overnight. No phone number needed.
Questions
What is Mwoyo?
Mwoyo is a free iPhone and Android app for staying close to the few people you love: tap their face, tap a mwoyo, and a hug, a wave, a heart or "thinking of you" lands on their phone as a little moment with motion, sound and touch. No typing, no feed, no streaks: a private circle of up to ten people.
What does "mwoyo" mean?
Mwoyo means "heart" in Shona. Each little moment you send is called a mwoyo.
Is Mwoyo free?
Yes. Mwoyo is free on iPhone and Android.
Do I need a phone number or an account?
No. You choose a name, and that is all. Mwoyo never asks for your phone number, email or contacts.
How do I add someone to my circle?
Tap the + face and pick a mwoyo to send ahead. Share the link on WhatsApp, SMS or anywhere, or let them scan the QR code. When they join, your mwoyo is waiting for them.
What can I send?
Love, a wave, a hug, a laugh, "thinking of you", "miss you", how you feel (happy, sad, tired, angry or surprised), a photo they see once, and up to 20 characters of your own words.
How is Mwoyo different from WhatsApp?
Mwoyo is not for chatting. It is for the moments between messages: one tap says "I'm thinking of you" without needing a conversation, and it arrives as a small gift they open, not another notification to answer.
Is it private?
Your circle is at most ten people you invited. Photos are seen once and deleted unless kept, location never leaves your phone, and "Delete everything" removes your account and data from the server.
Who is it for?
Families spread across towns and countries, couples, best friends, grandparents who find typing hard, and anyone who wants to say "I'm here" without finding the words.
