Help
Everything Mwoyo can do, in short. The same tips are in the app: open your profile, then How Mwoyo works.
Sending
Send a mwoyo
Tap a face, then a mwoyo. Hold one to make it bigger. While the mwoyo are open, shake your phone to send confetti.
Say how you feel
Under the mwoyo is How you feel: happy, sad, tired, angry or surprised.
Add a few words
In the tray, tap Add a few words to send up to 20 characters with your mwoyo, like "good luck today!". They see it after the moment, never in the notification.
Send a photo
Choose Photo and take one or pick one. They see it once; it stays only if they keep it in your jar, and you'll know if they do.
Receiving
Tap or hold the bubble to open it, or wait a moment and it opens by itself. Swipe left and right between them, or use the arrows. Close any time: what you haven't opened keeps. Send one back lets you answer with any mwoyo.
Your circle
Invite someone
Tap the + face and pick a mwoyo to send ahead. Share the link on WhatsApp, SMS or anywhere, or let someone next to you scan the QR code with their phone's camera. When they join, your mwoyo is the first thing they open, and you'll hear that they joined. They can also type your 6-letter code in Mwoyo under I have a code. Codes last 7 days and work for several people.
Someone who won't tap a link
Under the link, Or as a moving sticker sends the same mwoyo as a GIF that plays by itself in the chat, with your invite under it.
Share a rare moment
When you and someone send the same mwoyo at the same time, or you send a golden one, tap Share to post it to your status or a chat.
Mute, remove, block
Tap their face, then ⋯. They're never told.
Notifications not arriving?
- Check notifications are allowed for Mwoyo in your phone's settings.
- Quiet hours (overnight by default) keep things silent; you'll still see them when you open Mwoyo.
- If you muted someone, their mwoyo arrive quietly.
- Tecno, Infinix, itel and some other Android phones close apps in the background to save battery. Open Settings → Battery (or Phone Master), find Mwoyo, and choose Don't optimise or allow it to run in the background and auto-start.
- Mwoyo always checks when you open it, so nothing is lost.
On your home screen
In your profile, under Outside the app, add the Mwoyo widget. It shows what's waiting and your faces: tap one to send them a mwoyo.
- iPhone: press and hold an empty spot on your home screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and search for Mwoyo. It also fits your lock screen: press and hold it, tap Customise.
- Android: tap Add to home screen in Mwoyo, or press and hold your home screen, tap Widgets and find Mwoyo. Turn on Pop up over other apps and allow Display over other apps for Mwoyo, and a little gift floats in when a mwoyo arrives (never during quiet hours).
Meeting in person
In the invite sheet, tap Scan their code. It works with no internet at all: their face joins your circle at once, and you connect properly the next time you're online. Mwoyo you send in the meantime wait and go then.
A lot waiting?
Several of the same from one person play once, as one bigger moment. With a lot waiting, Mwoyo shows everyone first: answer each with one tap, open one person's, or open them all later.
Start again or leave
Your profile has Delete everything. It removes your account, your circle and every photo, on your phone and on Mwoyo's server. See Privacy for what Mwoyo keeps.
