Child safety standards
Mwoyo, made by Manorlds, has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). This page sets out what is not allowed, how Mwoyo is built to keep it out, how to report it, and what we do when someone does.
Last updated 5 November 2026.
What is never allowed
Anything that sexualises, exploits or endangers a child is forbidden on Mwoyo, including:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind, real, drawn or generated.
- Grooming: building trust with a child in order to abuse or exploit them.
- Sextortion: threatening to share intimate images to get more images, money or anything else.
- Sexualised messages, images or requests sent to or about a child.
- Using Mwoyo to arrange to meet, traffic or harm a child.
Breaking these rules ends your use of Mwoyo, and we report it to the authorities (see below).
Who Mwoyo is for
Mwoyo is not meant for children under 13. It is for a private circle of up to ten people who already know each other, such as family and close friends.
How Mwoyo is built to keep children safe
- No strangers. There is no search, no public profile, no feed and no way to find people. Someone can only reach you if you sent them an invite or accepted theirs.
- Small circles. At most ten people. You see everyone who can send you anything.
- Little room for words. A mwoyo carries at most 20 characters of text. There is no chat.
- Photos go once. A photo is seen once and then deleted, unless the person who received it chooses to keep it. Location and camera details are removed from every photo.
- No location. Mwoyo never collects where you are.
How to report
- In the app, a photo: while it is open, choose Report. It is kept for review instead of being deleted, and we are told straight away.
- In the app, a person: tap their face and choose Block. They can never send you anything again, and they are not told. You can also remove them from your circle.
- Anything else, or if you are not on Mwoyo: email manorldsapiens@gmail.com. Say what happened and, if you can, the name the person uses in Mwoyo. Please do not send us the images themselves.
What we do when something is reported
- We review reports as quickly as we can, and aim to do so within 24 hours.
- When content breaks these standards, we remove it and close the account behind it.
- When we find or are told about child sexual abuse material, we keep the evidence safely (shared only with the authorities), report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) through its CyberTipline, and report it to the police where the child or the account holder appears to be.
- We work with law enforcement on lawful requests about child safety.
If a child is in danger right now
Contact your local police first. You can also report:
- In Uganda: the Sauti child helpline, 116 (free), or the Uganda Police Force.
- Anywhere: the NCMEC CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org, or the Internet Watch Foundation at report.iwf.org.uk.
Following the law
Mwoyo follows the child safety laws that apply to it, including the duty to report child sexual abuse material to the authorities, and the policies of the App Store and Google Play.
